Philippe Arrata

Phil brings over 20 years of experience driving growth in rapidly changing industries. Phil has run all facets of an organization, most recently as CEO of Mountain Equipment Co-op (MEC). Under his leadership, MEC underwent a significant transformation program focused on e-commerce, store experience, supply chain, merchandising, and continuous improvement.

Prior to joining MEC, Phil spent over a decade with Best Buy Canada, where his last role was Chief Financial & Administrative Officer. At Best Buy, Phil was responsible for areas spanning Finance, Strategy, Supply Chain, Real-estate, Technology, Geek Squad and Best Buy for Business.

Phil began his career in management consulting, first with Deloitte and then McKinsey & Company. He worked with clients in the industrial, telecommunications, and financial services sectors.

He is involved in the community as a Board Member of the BC Women’s Health Foundation, and as an Adjunct Professor at the UBC Sauder MBA program. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce from McGill and an MBA from the Kellogg School.

André La Forge

André possesses 30 years plus of hands-on practical experience working with medium sized business and their management teams, accompanying them throughout all facets of their corporate development.

André spent two years in a corporate operational role as Senior Vice-President and co-head of GardaWorld’s cash services business in Canada.  Prior to and post-Garda, André spent 16 years as an active hands-on private equity investor with Borealis Private Equity (affiliated with OMERS), Kilmer Capital Partners, Roynat Equity Partners and Entrepreneur Capital.   André was also Managing Partner of KPMG’s financial advisory services practice in Montréal (managing the corporate finance, valuations, due diligence and corporate restructuring teams) for close to 12 years.  André’s early career was spent with RBC in commercial lending and with CCFL in private equity and subordinated debt.    

Over the span of his career André had been involved in numerous transactions (many cross-border in nature) and has assisted several management teams whether as a direct participant or an advisor to help them achieve their growth potential.  Over the years André has been a member of the board of directors of several private and publicly traded companies.   André has a Bachelors degree in Commerce from Concordia University (John Molson School of Business) and an MBA from Laval University.
