MONTREAL, September 2, 2021 / – An investor group led by Champlain Financial Corporation (“Champlain”) and including Desjardins Capital, Fondaction and Société Financière Bourgie has acquired JLD-Laguë, a leading Canadian John Deere equipment and Peterbilt truck dealership network. The JLD-Laguë Group was created in 2011 from Champlain’s vision to consolidate a highly fragmented equipment dealership network in Eastern Canada and the member dealerships have roots dating as far back as 1951. Champlain and some of the 2011 investors elected to reinvest in the company and continue its growth strategy through both organic initiatives and tactical acquisitions.
The current management team has remained on board under the continued leadership of JLD-Laguë’s current CEO, Terry Enepekides. “We are very excited to have reached this important milestone and to have partnered with long term, new and existing investors who share Champlain’s and leadership’s vision for continued growth”, says Mr. Enepekides.
The financial terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.
